Today, during the Stadia Connect livestream, Google announced the pricing of the service, alongside more details.
The service will cost $9.99 a month with the Stadia Pro subscription. As a Stadia Pro subscriber, you’ll have a range of free games available, updated regularly, on top of discounts on a further selection of games.
A launch offer has also been announced for $129. The Stadia Founder’s Edition can be pre-ordered starting today to get first access when the service launches later this year.
Google promises to deliver it in November, and it includes a Chromecast Ultra, a limited edition Night Blue controller, 3 months of Stadia Pro subscription, and a buddy pass you can give to a friend, extending the three months of Stadia Pro subscription to them as well.
An additional privilege is that those who get the Founder’s Edition will be able to get first dibs on their Stadia nickname.
The service will launch in the fourteen countries listed at the bottom of the post, and Google is working hard to make it available in more countries in 2020.
As an additional bonus, gamers who buy the Founder’s Edition will also receive Destiny 2 for free.
If you don’t want Stadia Pro, you don’t need it, and you can access the service for free as “Stadia Base.” In that case, you’ll need to buy access to each game separately. On top of that, you’ll be limited to 1080p resolution and stereo sound. Stadia Pro subscribers will get resolutions up to 4K and 5.1 surround audio.
Incidentally, this isn’t the last Stadia Connect video, as more will come down the line pretty much like everyone’s beloved Nintendo Direct livestreams.
Google Stadia was announced back in March with the showcase of multiple demo videos featuring Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and many of its features.
