What Does FFXIV Shadowbringers Interrupt Do?

The Interrupt feature is kind of how it sounds when it comes to combat. Simply put, when performed correctly, players can completely prevent an enemy from using their ability during the casting process.

This isn’t something you can do with just any ability or loadout, though; you’ll need to use specific ones.

How to Interrupt in FFXIV Shadowbringers

Introduced with the Shadowbringers expansion, there is now a gauge that indicates when actions can be interrupted. Player actions with this new effect can prevent the execution of enemy abilities when used before the casting bar is filled. This bar appears above an enemy’s health bar, so you’ll need to keep an eye out for this and be quick on the draw if you want to interrupt.

As previously mentioned, however, only certain actions have this effect. At the time of posting, only the following actions can interrupt:

  • Interject
  • Head Graze
  • Flying Sardine
  • Bad Breath

That’s everything you need to know on how to interrupt in Shadowbringers. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to search for Twinfinite. We’ve also included links to more of our Shadowbringers guides down below:
