In a press release provided by the streaming service, it was revealed that Fire Force would be part of their batch of simulcasted titles being released as part of the summer 2019 anime season.

The shonen title is set to premiere on July 4, though a specific time for when the title will be available has not yet been provided.

Crunchyroll describes the title as follows:

Tokyo is burning, and citizens are mysteriously suffering from spontaneous human combustion all throughout the city! Responsible for snuffing out this inferno is the Fire Force, and Shinra is ready to join their fight. Now, as part of Company 8, he’ll use his devil’s footprints to help keep the city from turning to ash! But his past and a burning secret behind the scenes could set everything ablaze.

The press release also came with a promo visual for the series, which can be viewed down below.

The anime is an adaptation of Atsushi Ōkubo’s manga of the same name. Starting its publication in 2015, the series currently has 16 volumes in print and 1.8 million total sales as of January of 2018.

Ōkubo is also the creator behind such popular works as B. Ichi and Soul Eater, the latter of which likewise enjoyed a successful manga run as well as an anime adaptation.

Fire Force is only the latest of several titles confirmed or planned to be confirmed for summer simulcast streaming by Crunchyroll.

Just last month they confirmed the hotly anticipated Dr. Stone anime would be headlining their release slate, while other titles like To the Abandoned Secret Beasts and Hakata Mentai! Pirikarako-chan have been confirmed in the weeks since.
