But how long it takes for a game to download entirely before you play it depends on the game’s file size and whether it comes with an update patch. Preload Times for Plague Tale: Innocence

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a fairly average size, so you won’t be twiddling your thumbs while the game downloads for hours on end.

If you pre-ordered A Plague Tale: Innocence on the PS4 and Xbox, you can pre-load it onto your hard drive already. If you pre-ordered it on Steam, the preload date is set for May 12.

Whatever your platform of choice, it’ll take you around 12 to 15 minutes to pre-load the game onto the hard drive provided that it doesn’t come with an update patch.

You’ll have to wait another 35 to 40 minutes for the game to be downloaded completely before you start getting your hands full of rocks and splinters. The file size is about 38 GB, so make sure you make some wiggle room for the rats.

When Plague Tale Innocence Will Be Unlocked

Once you pre-loaded and downloaded A Plague Tale: Innocence, you still need to wait a while longer to get right into it.

According to the game’s Twitter page, if you’re of the Steam variety and are eager to start running like hell through the ravaged streets of medieval France, you can start playing it May 13 at 6 PM Eastern / 3 PM Pacific, which translates to about midnight, Parisian time. Otherwise, the game launches May 14 at midnight in your time zone.
