HBO’s popular Game of Thrones series may have come to an end, but that doesn’t mean series creator and writer George R.R. Martin doesn’t have more projects up his sleeve.

Aside from actually finishing the final two books left in A Song of Ice and Fire (titled Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring respectively), Martin revealed via a blog post that he was involved in several other shows on HBO, as well as adaptations and features he was working on.

Most interestingly, though, Martin also revealed that he had consulted on a video game out of Japan. This was only briefly mentioned in the blog post, but it’s still pretty exciting news nonetheless.

The author didn’t provide anymore details, but it would appear that he’ll be involved in a video game project from a Japanese developer or publisher in some way. Martin also didn’t confirm whether the game itself would be related to Game of Thrones or A Song Of Ice and Fire in any way, so details are still pretty scarce on that front.

This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen the Game of Thrones IP adapted into a video game, as Telltale Games has given it a shot (albeit poorly), as has Atlus. Both games didn’t exactly release to critical acclaim, so if Martin’s new project is indeed related to the popular fantasy series, here’s hoping it’ll actually live up to its prestigious legacy.

We’ll keep you updated as more info comes our way.
