What You Need to Know About Fortnite Season 9 Slipstreams & Airvents

With the new slipstream transportation system, players can quickly traverse around the map by flying in and out of the large rings pictured above.

Obviously, this means that navigating from building to building is now much quicker, assuming you’ve got the skill to glide your way between them accurately. Making it easier to do so are environmental structures called air vents which will help players stay aloft for longer.

The new slipstream and air vent mechanics will be super handy for escaping the incoming storm, and presumably, they’ll work wonders as a strategic tool for taking our enemy teams camped in a building or fort.

Slipstreams

Slipstreams are tunnels of wind that passively carry players along their stream. You’ll be able to control your speed, moving faster and changing direction while caught up in the stream.

To increase your speed, you’ll need to bob up and down using the correct directional input, so our advice is to practice getting the motion right.

When you exit the Slipstream you’ll be launched into the air depending on your movement speed and exit angle.

Keep in mind that projectiles and vehicles can also enter the Slipstream, so there’s no immunity by entering it.

Air Vents

As we’ve mentioned earlier, these environmental structures launch players into the air for a short distance. Still, you will get a decent amount of height by using them, so luckily you’ll be given immunity to fall damage after having used one.

Air Vents can be used to quickly scale buildings, or give you the height required to enter a Slipstream.

That should be everything you need to know about Slipstreams and Air Vents in Fortnite Season 9. For more useful guides, check out our Season 9 wiki, or just search Twinfinite.
