Sony Bend’s Days Gone doesn’t release until later this week, but the developer took to the PlayStation Blog today to announce its post-launch content for the game. Starting in June, players can expect free DLC content that adds a range of new activities to the experience.
If the post-apocalyptic horror’s of Days Gone’s open world weren’t enough already, Bend plans to add a new survival difficulty mode to the game. In addition to increased difficulty and the inability to fast travel or use Survival Vision, the mode features an immersive HUD that removes maps and indicators from the gameplay screen.
For those looking for something a little less punishing, Bend has you covered with weekly challenges. Each week beginning in June, a new Bike, Horde, or Combat challenge will be accessible to further test your skills. We’ve no word on exactly what the challenges are likely to entail yet, but there’s mention of taking “key gameplay features of Days Gone” and twisting them “in unique ways to earn additional items and rewards.”
As a reward for playing either the Survival mode and weekly challenges, players can expect to earn new trophies and unique bike skins.
