Outward, the survival RPG that has recently released on consoles and PC, has a whole host of weapons and items to find and craft. However, once you’ve got a weapon that you want to use as you complete the missions in the game, you need to look after it. Here’s everything you need to know about how to repair weapons in Outward.
Most weapons in Outward have a durability rating that indicates how long it’ll last before it breaks and will not be useful in combat. There are some unique weapons, such as Tsar weapons or the Brand, that have unlimited durability ratings due to how rare they are, however.
Weapons that can break, however, need to be repaired so that you can use them again. Unfortunately, the game isn’t very clear about how to fix them again to make them useful.
To repair weapons in Outward, you need to sleep with them equipped. This will put time into refilling their durability so that you can head out into the world to fight with them once more. Be sure to make your character wear them first, or it will not work.
There are some items, away from weapons, that do not repair in the same way. For example, lanterns cannot be repaired by sleeping. Instead, you need to refill them with oil. On the crafting screen in Outward, the lantern needs to go in slot one, and the thick oil needs to go in the second slot.
This is the case for some other items that stop working after a period of use, but most weapons are repaired by resting as described above.
