Today the NPD announced its statistics for the video game market in the United States during the month of March.
The data was relayed on Twitter by Analyst Mat Piscatella.
We learn that Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 was the best-selling game of the month, and is now the second best selling game of 2018. It’s also enjoyed the sixth best launch month for a Ubisoft game in tracked history.
On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console for both dollar and number sales, and it’s also at the top for the whole first quarter of 2019.
Kingdom Hearts III remains the best-selling game of 2018 so far and is now the best-selling game of the franchise, ever.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the second best-selling game of Mach, and its launch month is inferior only to Dark Souls III among FromSoftware’s games. That’s certainly not bad for a new IP.
MLB 19: The Show ranked third, and enjoyed the best launch month for the franchise, as well as for a baseball game in general.
Devil May Cry 5 ranked fourth, and its launch month sales are he second-best for the franchise, behind Devil May Cry 4.
