mortal kombat 11, how to do all offensive bar moves

Mortal Kombat 11 is here and it has undone a few features that might be familiar to fans from the last two games. The Super Meter is dead and has been replaced by two new bars in Mortal Kombat 11. The Defensive and Offensive Bars. You have a lot more options at your disposal now, however they require more skill and better timing to use than before. Here is how to use all Offensive Bar Moves in Mortal Kombat 11.

Amplified Special Moves: R1/RB At Correct Time

Some special moves (not all) can be amplified by pressing R1/RB at the correct time after preforming the correct button inputs for one of your special moves. The timing is usually right after the input or as the opponent is being hit by the move. However it does vary from character to character, you should experiment in Practice mode to get a feel for the right timing.

The reason you would want to do this is to not only add additional damage and hits, but also some Amplified Special Moves are key for preforming long Kombos that if successfully pulled off will do a lot of damage.

Most Amplified Special moves cost one offensive bar to use.

Amplified Environmental Interaction: R1/RB + R2/RT While At an Applicable Object

Although not as common as your average environmental attack which usually just uses the defensive bar, there are certain objects that you can interact with that will also absorb an incoming attack and set up for a powerful attack.

It requires precise timing, and two full offensive bars, but if used correctly it will do a lot of damage while protecting you at the same time.

Getup Attack Juggle Kombo: (While Getting Up) Up + Triangle/Y/X (PS4, XB1, Switch)

A Getup Attack is a defensive maneuver that also has offensive applications as well. It can be performed when your character is getting up after being knocked down.

It’s designed to brush an overly aggressive opponent away, and potentially turn the tables for you while you’re on the ground so you can launch a series of attacks yourself.

The quicker more aggressive version is better for setting up a potential Juggle Kombo as launches the other player in the air, however, it can be more easily be blocked or dodged.

A Getup Attack costs both one offensive, and one defensive bar to use. It should be used just as you start to get to your feet.

Getup Attack Invulnerable: (While Getting Up) Up + X/A/B (PS4, XB1, Switch)

The more defensive version makes you briefly invulnerable and will counter someone who is still attacking you but it can still be used offensively as well. It helps you land a safe and easy hit, but will not set up a Juggle Kombo and can be blocked even easier if your opponent isn’t actively attacking you.

This version of the Getup Attack also costs one offensive and defensive bar to use.

Flawless Block Attack Juggle Kombo: (Flawless Block) Up + Triangle/Y/X (PS4, XB1, Switch)

A Flawless Block Attack is a move that can be used only after performing a Flawless Block. A Flawless Block is just a fancy word for a perfectly timed blocked with R2/RT.

When you nail this, you will absorb more damage (always good), and you’ll receive a notification on your side of the screen that you’ve performed it.

While this seems like it would fall under defense, the attack you follow up with can be used to set up a Kombo of your own.

To do a Flawless Block Attack for a Juggle Kombo, follow up with Up + Triangle/Y/X. Like the Getup Attack, the Up and Triangle one is quicker, harder to counter, and can be used to set up a Juggle Kombo.

It costs one defensive bar and one offensive bar to use.

Flawless Block Attack Invulnerable: (Flawless Block) Up + X/A/B (PS4, XB1, Switch)

This version of the Flawless Block Attack is performed by pressing X/A/B instead. The Up + X version will make you invulnerable and is safer to pull off, but can’t be used for a Juggle Kombo.

It also costs one defensive bar and one offensive bar to use.
