How to Get the Chance in Tropico 6

During your time in the Colonial Era you’ll be working for The Crown but you’ll be asked to complete tasks for the Revolutionary Leader, which you should do. After a few missions, one in particular will give you the ability to declare independence.

The mission will asks you to achieve revolutionary approval of 60 percent and have the same percentage of your population support the Revolutionaries. Completing this is what will allow you to move on to the rest of Tropico 6.

At the conclusion of the mission, a screen will appear with two options. They both see you become independent, but the first sees you pay off The Crown for 10,000 dollars, and the second sees you prepare for war against The Crown.

Either is a viable option in Tropico 6, so which you choose depends on which makes the most sense for you population. If you’re rolling in cash, paying them off to ensure that you declare independence might be the best choice, but if you’re got a lot of soldiers at the ready, you might have a great chance of saving money by battling.

No matter which option you choose, you’ll be freed from The Crown and move into the World Wars period of Tropico 6. We’ve got a video guide above if you’d like a visual representation of how to do this.
