How to Save Your Game in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
As you embark on your quest as the one-armed wolf in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, you’re going to come across a lot of formidable enemies, intent on turning you into a reddish pulp on the ground. Sometimes, you’ll need to take a break, and at those moments, you’ll likely want to know how to save your game in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Auto-Saving
As has been the case in Dark Souls titles we’ve seen before, Sekiro has a pretty aggressive and frequent auto-save system. Every action you perform, item you pick up, and battle you have is saved. You cannot reload, or go back to an earlier point in Sekiro, unless you plan on starting a new game completely.
Essentially, be absolutely certain you want to make any decisions you do within the game before going ahead and pulling the trigger. As such, it’s pretty safe to just let the game do the hard work and save your progress.
However, if you want to be doubly certain that you’re not going to lose your hard work, there’s a way to manually save, too.
How to Manual Save in Sekiro
The ability to manually save in Sekiro isn’t some option you can find within the menus. To do so, you’ll want to press the Options button on PS4, Menu button on Xbox One, or Esc on PC. From here, tab over to the Options tab and then choose the ‘Quit Game’ option.
By quitting Sekiro this ‘proper’ way, the game will save your progress in the process, and return you to the title screen to then close the application entirely, or jump back in if you’ve changed your mind about taking a break. Don’t worry, we don’t blame you.
