How to Dodge in Devil May Cry 5
Devil May Cry returns with the fifth entry in the series, which marks a big return to form. The combat is as electrifying as you would expect, with fast-paced action that demands careful coordination of different attacks and movement. Here’s how to dodge in Devil May Cry 5 in case you’re struggling.
While you can dodge to evade enemy attacks, there isn’t actually a specific dodge button in DMC5. Essentially, the dodge button is the same as the jump button during combat, but only when you’re locked-on to a target.
Dodging is assigned to the jump button (X on PS4, A on Xbox One) once you have either used R1 or RB to lock-on. Of course, to dodge in a specific direction, make sure you tilt the analog stick either left or right while hitting the button.
You will need to get used to dodging enemy attacks in Devil May Cry 5 as there isn’t really any option to block or parry attacks — though you will have the ability to use Royal Guard when playing with Dante. For the most part, however, dodging is the go-to for evading enemy attacks.
If you’re still struggling in combat, make sure you’re grabbing red orbs in order to ensure that you have the best combat abilities ready to go for all of the playable characters and situations that you’ll come across. This includes the Air Hike ability as well for the characters not named V.
