Is There Co-Op Multiplayer in Devil May Cry 5? Answered
Devil May Cry is back with the series fifth mainline entry, and we’re happy to report that it’s a return to form for one of Capcom’s most beloved modern franchises. There’s all the great combat, impressive graphics, and compelling story that made the original PS2 title so popular way back in the early 2000s. But is there co-op multiplayer in Devil May Cry 5? Here’s your answer.
If you were looking forward to co-op action then, unfortunately, you won’t find it in Devil May Cry 5, at least in the traditional sense. There is actually a feature built into the game that does allow players to interact — though it isn’t strictly co-op play.
In certain missions called “Link Missions,” other players will join your session, but you don’t interact or play together as you would in a a Souls game or something similar.
Basically, you can see them playing through the mission as one of the game’s different characters, parallel to what you’re doing. At the end of the mission you can either rate them as “Stylish” or not at all.
So what incentive is there to actually perform that action? Well, Rating enough players will eventually reward you with a precious Gold Orb, which is used to revive your character with full health and Devil Trigger if you die.
Gold Orbs are a little harder to come by than the game’s red ones, so it’s certainly worth participating in the Link Mission rating system as and when you get the chance.
So there you have it, there is no co-op multiplayer in Devil May Cry 5, but there is some sort of online interactivity between players. For more useful information and guides on the game, be sure to check out our extensive wiki page.
