Dead or Alive 6 hopes to be the most accessible entry in the fighting franchise yet, bringing in newcomers with streamlined mechanics and options. One of the game’s many mechanics is the Break Gauge. Think of it like your ultimate meter. Here’s how to fill the break gauge in Dead or Alive 6.

How to Fill the Break Gauge

The good news is that you won’t really need to go out of your way to fill the Break Gauge in Dead or Alive 6. This will happen automatically whenever your fighter deals or takes damage, as well as when you successfully guard against attacks.

This means that your gauge will simply build up over time, and you’ll be in an even better position if you’re playing smart and guarding, and timing your attacks right.

The Break Gauge dictates how you’ll be able to use two different kinds of special attacks in Dead or Alive 6, Break Blows and Fatal Rush, both of which can be used when the gauge is at 100 percent.

How to Use Fatal Rush and Break Blows

Fatal Rush is a powerful high strike that can put your opponent into Fatal Stun. By hitting your special button four times (R1 on PS4 and RB on Xbox) your fighter will chain together three strikes then blow the opponent back on the fourth.

Meanwhile, Break Blows are an ultra-powerful strike that’ll treat you to a nice slow-mo animation. To use it, you just need to tilt the stick in the direction your character is facing and press your special button once (R1 or RB). This attack will let your fighter strike through the enemy’s combo and deliver a punishing blow.

There is a third option for using your Break Gauge in Dead or Alive 6, with a Break Hold that can be used to get the advantage over any type of strike. Once the gauge is at least 50 percent full, just push back on the left stick and then use R1/RB to execute a powerful hold on your opponent.

That’s everything you need to know about how to fill the break gauge in Dead or Alive 6. For even more tips, tricks, and guides, make sure to search Twinfinite, or you can just take a look at our extensive Dead or Alive 6 guide wiki.
