As great as The Sims 4’s game pack StrangerVille is, there are still elements of it that modders have improved upon or mods that add a bit of “oomph” to the overall gameplay experience. To that end, here are some of the best Sims 4 StrangerVille Mods we’ve found so far.
StrangerVille Snow Mod
Enjoying the new locale StrangerVille offers, but curious to see what it would look like during a different season? The StrangerVille Snow Mod is right up your alley. Burying the normally sunny town in a layer of white powder, this mod alters the weather patterns for the town to put it in a colder climate so long as the game’s internal calendar is set to winter.
As such, you can send your Sims out into the world in season-appropriate attire, exploring the new locale in jackets and heavier clothing while the townspeople do the same. It’s also worth noting that this one works alongside weather mods for other areas, allowing you to experience a new season with minimal rearranging of mods and add-ons you already own.
Terrain Overhaul
StrangerVille is very vibrant, but does it fit its own vibe very well? This terrain mod will overhaul your game pack’s world and make it look better than you ever thought it could before. From images of Mars to the canyons in Utah, StrangerVille will truly channel its natural beauty. The grass feels real, the plants feel prinkly, and the sun scorches your Sims’ backs. Grab this mod here to see StrangerVille in a whole new light, literally.
StrangerVille Story Toggle
Do you want to experience StrangerVille in a more… fast-paced manner? Sometimes, it can get a bit annoying or you just would like to experience the new world without the story that goes with it.
This mod will allow you to have complete control over the storyline in StrangerVille, meaning that you can either enable it or disable it whenever you want to. Download it here and then place the file directly into your mods folder as usual.
Personal Objects Mod
If there are any computers, phones or other such objects you find in StrangerVille that you want to make sure are reserved for specific Sims, you’ll want the Personal Objects mod. Made by LittleMsSam, the mod makes it so that only certain Sims can use specified objects in the game’s world. A computer in your abode in StrangerVille, for instance, can be made inaccessible to any other Sims except the one you control.
It’s a small touch, but also one that helps to keep the houses you build and the items you provide to your Sims feeling more personal and individualized. Likewise, if you’d like to open up access to the item again, you can easily turn the mod on and off without issue.
Cheats Fix Mod
As interesting and well crafted as the story missions in StrangerVille may be, they can come off as a hinderance for players looking to dive into the new town and its items right off the bat. For them, the Cheats Fix mod is a must have. Allowing for the use of cheats previously restricted with the addition of the Seasons add-on, the mod allows players to speed up time, skip story missions and otherwise play the game with as few restrictions as possible.
Those who want to get down into the nitty gritty of all that StrangerVille has to offer can do so in a matter of minutes versus the few hours it might’ve taken them to complete the story. It’s a little bit of a process to get it set up, but once it is there’s little doubt players will wish cheats had never been disabled in the first place.
StrangerVille Liberated Camping RVs Mod
The camping RVs are some of the cooler new structure additions made in StrangerVille, and with Brazenlotus’ Liberated Camping RVs mod you can place them wherever you’d like. No more will players be limited to napping in the RVs already placed in the game, instead able to establish their mobile home wherever they’d like.
Want to set up shop in the middle of a street? Go for it. Interested in what it would look like to set up a parking lot full of functional RVs? With this mod in place, it’s only a click away. The only real limit to keep in mind is that players need the Outdoor Retreat add-on downloaded as the mod makes RVs function in much the same way tents do.
Zombie Apocalypse Mod
StrangerVille has plenty of creepy and spooky themes once the story picks up, but the Zombie Apocalypse mod can really put it over the top. Unleashing a zombie apocalypse on the world of Sims 4, it allows players to fight back against hordes of the undead, trigger it yourself to conquer the world or embrace it and build up a community of flesh-craving citizens. Every avenue provides plenty of new gameplay options, and as a result can add several hours of gameplay on that otherwise wouldn’t be available. Whether you’re gunning down the zombies that were once StrangerVille’s populace or helping them set up better abodes for the rest of their undead lives, it’s sure to provide a fresh new experience.
