How to Save Your Game in Far Cry New Dawn

Recommended Videos

There’s nothing worse than a long gaming session erased from the book of time because you forgot to record your progress. Here’s how to save in Far Cry New Dawn.

There are things in video games that nobody thinks about, that nobody praises, that absolutely make a game. The sound of footsteps is an excellent example.

When they’re there, you don’t notice it, but when they’re not, everything seems off. Something very similar to that is saving.

It’s 2019 and most games feature auto checkpoints. Some do it a lot and some don’t do it nearly enough (but at least they do it). Others require you to do so manually —looking at you Kingdom Hearts 3— and there’s nothing worse than playing for five hours straight only to shut off your system and realize you never manually recorded your progress.

Fortunately, Far Cry New Dawn does not fall into this camp. In fact, it not only features checkpoints but allows you to manually save as well.

Far Cry New Dawn takes it a step further and tells you via an onscreen visual that the game is saving. When the game auto-saves, which happens each time you need to load something and often in between, you’ll see three dots in the top right corner of the screen.

These dots are Ubisoft’s nice way of showing you that you don’t need to worry —your progress is recorded.

If you’re someone who likes to save more often than when a game’s checkpoint system kicks in, or someone who worries about losing any amount of progress, manual saves are your best friends.

To manually save in Far Cry New Dawn, open up the game’s pause menu with the Options button. With this open, navigate your way to the Save option and select it.

After selecting this option, you’ll see those three dots pop up on in the top right corner of your screen to indicate to you that the game is recording your progress. When those dots disappear, the process will be complete.

You can manually save as often as you’d like and there’s very few situations in the game where you won’t be able to do so. Cutscenes are the most common situation you’ll find yourself in where you’re unable to save.
