Apex Legends continues to gain momentum with each passing day, from the looks of it. If last Thursday Respawn Entertainment announced that its freshly-released, free-to-play battle royale had surpassed 10M total and 1M concurrent players, the studio revealed today that the number of total players has gone over 25M in the first week following launch.
Furthermore, Apex Legends saw a peak of “well over 2 million concurrent players” during the weekend.
“What a week! Since we launched Apex Legends last week on Monday we’ve seen the creation of an Apex Legends community that is excited, thriving, and full of great feedback and ideas. Our goal is to build this game with you, our community, so keep giving us your feedback because we really are listening.”, Respawn Entertainment’s Vince Zampella said in a post on the game’s website.
He then went on to briefly detail future plans for the studio’s free-to-play battle royale title. The Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Challenge, which pits 48 of the biggest Twitch streamers against each other, will take place on Feb. 12 and Feb. 19.
For Valentine’s Day, Apex Legends will receive new limited-time loot themed around the holiday.
Lastly, the game’s first season is scheduled to kick off in March, which is also when the first Battle Pass will debut. Players should also expect new Legends, weapons, loot, and other goodies to be added during Season One.
If you happen to have questions about the free-to-play battle royale or just need a tip or three to get closer to that number one spot, searching Twinfinite will take you to a variety of guides covering a number of different subjects.
Some examples include guides on how to get attachments & what they all do, how to get and equip new skins, and which characters are best suited for different playstyles.
