Today, during a livestream hosted by Bandai Namco from Taipei Game Show, the first gameplay of SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays was showcased.
We get to see some spiffy strategy JRPG gameplay in action, alongside the cinematic attacks that have become well known among fans of the series (and of the Super Robot Wars franchise, which is similar in many ways).
As revealed last week, the game will include four popular Mobile Suit Gundam series, Gundam Wing, Seed, 00, and Iron-Blooded Orphans.
Basically, they’re the four latest non-Universal Century-based spin-off series of the Gundam franchise, and they include some of the most popular anime like Wing and Seed.
You can check out the video below. You can also watch the original trailer that revealed the game, and the second extended trailer that revealed the platforms.
At the moment a full-fledged western release has not been announced, and it may not come due to the usual pesky licensing issues. That being said, the game is coming to South-East Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia) with English subtitles, so things aren’t so grim.
SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays will be released for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam within 2019.
