How to Get the Resident Evil 2 Demo

Recommended Videos

Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake is set to release later this month, but if you want to get a taste of the game before launch, there’s a demo out right now that you can check out. Here’s how to get the Resident Evil 2 demo.

PS4 and Xbox One

At the time of writing, the Resident Evil 2 1-Shot demo is live on Sony’s PSN store, but only in select countries. For now, we’ve been able to find it on the UK and Australian stores.

If you have a PSN account in either of those regions, you’ll be able to download it from the store and play it without any issues. It isn’t currently available on the North American store, however, but we expect it to go live later in the day as it’s supposed to release on Jan. 11.

Similarly for Xbox One players, the demo is already live in the Australian marketplace. In this case, all you have to do is change your account’s region through the console settings, and you’ll be able to download and play it.

Again, the game is currently not available on the North American marketplace.

When the Resident Evil 2 1-Shot Demo is live and available on your console’s online store, take the following steps to access and download it.

  • Use your console store’s search function.
  • Enter ‘Resident Evil 2’ within the search.
  • You should see the 1-Shot Demo appear as an option.
  • Press A on Xbox One or X on PS4 when it’s selected, and then choose the ‘Get’ on Xbox One, or ‘Download’ option on PS4 to commence the download.

PC/Steam

Capcom is also planning on releasing the 1-Shot demo on PC via Steam as well later today. However, it’s not currently live. If you’ve got a PS4 or Xbox One, those will likely be your best bet at downloading it and playing early.

That’s all you need to know about how to get the Resident Evil 2 demo. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more information on the game.

TLDR;

Question: How do you get the Resident Evil 2 demo?

Answer: The demo is scheduled to go live on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Jan. 11. However, at the moment, it’s only live on the UK and Australian PSN stores, and on the Australian marketplace. You can create new PSN accounts or change your Xbox One account region to download and play it early.
