Monster Hunter Gets a NieR: Automata Crossover Event, but it’s the Wrong Monster Hunter

NieR Automata Monsterr Hunter

A Monster Hunter game is getting a NieR: Automata crossover event, but it’s not the massively popular Monster Hunter: World.

The event is coming to the venerable online game Monster Hunter Frontier Z, which is currently playable for PC, PS4, PS3, and PS Vita.

I’m not sure why Capcom would use such a high profile collaboration for such a niche game, but I guess this at least opens the door to a similar event in Monster Hunter: World in the future.

The event includes themed enemies, equipment, armor that turns you into 2B and 9S, Emil equipment, and more. It starts today and will go on until March 13, taunting Monster Hunter: World players for over a month.

Below you can check out a trailer and an illustration created to celebrate the event.

We can only hope that someone at Capcom and Square Enix will see the potential for an event like this in Monster Hunter: World, but for now, this is all we get (or “they” get, because Frontier Z isn’t available in the west).

Of course, if something like that happens, you’ll be able to read all about it here on Twinfinite. In the meanwhile, you can get a refresher on why NieR: Automata is so good by reading our review.
