Over the past few days, the official Twitter account of Dead or Alive developer Team Ninja has been showcasing a ton of gameplay in a long series of short clips.
The videos show off several aspects of the upcoming games, alongside the cast wearing a variety of outfits.
On top of the gameplay, we also get some rather detailed explanation of some of the features that make Dead or Alive 6 unique, and some mechanics specific to a few of the characters.
The “Fatal Rush” (SSSS) is a stylish combo attack which can be performed by using the “S” button only. This feature can serve as an entry to DOA6 for newcomers and as a new tool for high level players. #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE6 pic.twitter.com/Z0oJAWlBSB

When landing a Fatal Rush, remember that you can stop before the final blow and chain into normal moves to continue your own custom combo. Here is a sample of what you can do fighters. #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE pic.twitter.com/Xeiz8spKGW

https://t.co/pWVagX27lc #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE6 pic.twitter.com/7qg3UFRFef

If you push “S” during a Side Step, you can execute a Side Attack. A Side Attack is a move that dodges opponent’s linear strikes and sends them flying back when hit. Be careful when using a Side Attack because if its blocked, it will leave you open to a guaranteed throw. #DOA6 pic.twitter.com/ffTTW2odac

Side Steps & Side Attacks can be stopped by tracking strikes. However, you can trigger a special Fatal Stun when hitting your opponent with the first hit of Fatal Rush during a Side Step. This Fatal Stun will turn them around, allowing you to strike them however you’d like. #DOA6 pic.twitter.com/uHtbAq74lK

When having a full Break Gauge and executing a complete Fatal Rush (SSSS) it will automatically trigger a Break Blow. However, if a player prefers to save the Break Gauge for later they can execute a Fatal Rush by itself by pushing SSS Back+S instead. #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE6 pic.twitter.com/vI5Y0DXx8g

Fatal Stuns caused by Fatal Rushes can only be escaped by using Break Holds. Using Fatal Rushes carelessly could get you countered. However, Break Holds stop all High Mid & Low strikes with proper timing but also use up 50% of the Break Gauge. So make sure to use it wisely. #DOA6 pic.twitter.com/Nm4FZF8xDr

Sit-down stuns have now become Fatal Stuns and will not allow you to counter hold regularly. This is similar to DOA5 sit-down stuns with one exception. These Fatal Stuns can still be interrupted by a Break Hold if the opponent has 50% of a break gauge. #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE6 pic.twitter.com/Mg4uHbWQpl

https://t.co/pWVagXjIJM #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE6 pic.twitter.com/C3rtWYtKDG
— DOATEC(DOA6)OFFICIAL (@DOATEC_OFFICIAL) December 27, 2018
https://t.co/pWVagXjIJM #DOA6 pic.twitter.com/zNgCjY8hoe

Mila is now capable of doing an expert low hold, which can be done by pressing Back then Down/Forward+Hold (43+H). This will allow Mila to strangle the opponent with the ground move known as “Butterfly Choke”. #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE6 pic.twitter.com/tDdqJYCbWm

https://t.co/pWVagX27lc #DOA6 pic.twitter.com/iAQJKSKE1c

https://t.co/pWVagXjIJM #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE6 pic.twitter.com/uB44kfBPKu
— DOATEC(DOA6)OFFICIAL (@DOATEC_OFFICIAL) December 28, 2018
https://t.co/pWVagXjIJM #DOA6 pic.twitter.com/rfxZWNca5M

Ayane has gained new powered up combos. If you do a slight delay after Punch, Punch, Punch then push Kick (PPP·K) the combo will change and do more damage. There are other combos such as Forward Forward Kick, Kick, delay Kick (66KK · K) that also power up using the same commands. pic.twitter.com/8yEObMcGqF

Hayabusa has gained a new ceiling move! When an opponent is being juggled, pressing Half-Circle Forward+Throw (41236+T) during Ongyoin now allows a Tenjou Izuna. This move can be used in many situations, including after the new Ongyoin Down+Punch+Kick (2P+K)Move. #DOA6 #Hayabusa pic.twitter.com/NtQRChqOjA

New techniques have been added to Kasumi! For example you can now do Forward Forward + Kick then Punch (66+K,P) allowing you to mix up between the mid kick and mid punch combo string finisher. #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE6 #Kasumi pic.twitter.com/mhf3DD73Bj

Managing your Break Gauge and using it correctly will save you from hard situations. If you use it carelessly it will leave you wide open to your opponents attacks. #DOA6 #DEADORALIVE6 pic.twitter.com/3tB95MSlZ4

The latest tweet from earlier today sounds like it may be the end of the series, but it includes an interesting line.
“Perhaps the time has come to give our fighters a chance to TEST their skills.”

If I was a betting man, this definitely sounds like a further tease of the possible demo release to which Dead or Alive 6 Producer and Director Yohei Shimbori hinted around the end of December.
Considering that Dead or Alive 6 will release worldwide for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Feb. 15, 2019, it’s quite possible that we hear an official announcement soon.
In the meanwhile, if you want to see more of the game, you can check out the latest character reveal with Elliot and Brad Wong, a batch of Bonus Costumes for Kasumi and Ryu Hayabusa, and more for newly-revealed character NiCO, Tina, Hitomi, and Leifang.
