Today D3 Publisher released a new batch of screenshots of the upcoming EDF spin-off Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain.

The screenshots focus on the Prowl Rider. It’s the results of studies made by the Earth Defense Force of a prototype PA Gear captured from the Kindred Rebellion and completed thanks to state-of-the-art tech.

While its capability to improve the wearer’s abilities is average compared to other PA Gears, it boasts the exceptional peculiarity of controlling giant creatures via its E-Needle.

It’s possible to use the GL.IAR (Ganglion-Linked Intelligent Aggressor Reinforcement) system not only to control a captured aggressor but also to increase its abilities to the limit, making it able to fend off many of its former compatriots.

In the screenshots below we see not only the Prowl Rider itself, but also the first Aggressor it can control, a Storm Ant. Incidentally, the screenies are provided in 4K resolution, giving us a nice view of the game’s visuals.

If you want to see more, you can also enjoy a ton of screenshots released back in November.

Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain has been confirmed for a Japanese release exclusively for PS4 on April 11, 2019. While the western launch date hasn’t officially announced yet, D3 Publisher has gone on record mentioning that they’re planning a simultaneous worldwide release.
