How to Get Enhancement Cores Fast in Destiny 2: Forsaken

Recommended Videos

With the release of the new Forsaken expansion in Destiny 2, Enhancement Cores have become more important than ever. Hopefully, you’ve been saving your Cores, though, because they’re still not easy to come by. However, we’re here to help you out by sharing a few ways you how you can get Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2.

These items were introduced in Destiny 2 a few months before the release of Forsaken, and they were used to strengthen Masterwork weapons.

First off, the best way to get Enhancement Cores right now is by purchasing them from Spider, the new Fallen vendor introduced in Forsaken. However, there’s a catch. The first Core you purchase on a particular day will cost 10 Legendary Shards, and subsequent purchases will cost double of what the previous one cost.

Because of this, unless you’re practically swimming in Shards, we don’t recommend buying more than four or five Enhancement Cores in one day. Space them out.

Next, if you have any Enhancement weapons tucked away in your vault that you don’t have a use for, you can also dismantle those to get a Core.

And once you’ve amassed a good number of high-level Legendary gear, you also have a chance obtaining a Core or two by dismantling those. This helps to free up vault space as well.

Dismantling gear also gives you a chance of obtaining an item called Finest Matterweave. It’s a consumable item that lets you obtain one Enhancement Core on your next elite kill.

Unlike the Three of Coins item that increased your chances of getting an Exotic drop in the first game, the Matterweave is a guaranteed Enhancement Core drop on your elite kill, but the buff goes away after you get one.

Finally, when dismantling gear, you’ll sometimes get a bonus bounty that upon completion, will reward you with an enhancement core. You normally have a couple of days to complete it, and they aren’t terribly difficult. So it’s definitely worth taking care of them ASAP.

It’s also worth noting that you have a higher chance of obtaining Enhancement gear from raid chests, and those can also be broken down for Enhancement Cores, but just in case you don’t have a group to raid with, the above methods should work just fine. Just be mindful of the gear you’re planning to infuse, and make every Core count.

That’s all you need to know for how to get Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2: Forsaken. Be sure to check our wiki for more information on Destiny 2 and the Forsaken expansion.
