The Sims 4 never ceases to amaze fans with new ways to play, huh? With the new update coming on Nov. 13, 2018, you’ll be able to finally play through the eyes of your sims. No more hovering over them, get right down and into their business. Here’s how to play first person view in The Sims 4.
First and foremost, the first person camera that let you see through the eyes of your sim was added already to the game.
Once it’s downloaded and installed, you’ll just launch the game as you normally would, load up your favorite sim family, select whatever sim, and start up the magic.
How to Play in First Person View in The Sims 4
It’s as simple as pushing Shift and Tab together within The Sims 4 to get into the First Person View and then again to get out of it.
If you’re playing on PS4 or Xbox One, you’re going to be pushing in the right thumbstick on your controller. That’s right, if you didn’t know that those sticks could be pushed in like buttons, now you do.
With it, you’ll be following along your sim, seeing what they see. It’s really the perfect addition to the game for those of you that actively like to roleplay as your sims and create fun machinimas. What better way to do it than from the ground floor, right?
And yes, while in first person mode you’re going to be able to control your sim telling them what to do and where to go. It’s as simple as moving the mouse around and having more control by holding Shift while clicking what you want to click.
This update is no doubt going to be a big one and it’s landing right in line with the next expansion, Get Famous. We’ll be sure to add to this post as soon as we get our hands on the feature and can tell you all about what you can and can’t do.
As of now, I can confirm that woohoo looks dumb with it, by the way.
In short, to play in first person in Sims 4
- Press Shift and Tab together if you’re on PC.
- Push down the right thumbstick to switch to first person on PS4 or Xbox One.
That’s all there is to switching the camera to be first person in The Sims 4! If you need more help, let us know in the comments below. Otherwise, check out our Sims 4 mods post over here if you want some funky changes to the game before you dive into this upcoming patch.
