Most the weapons in Red Dead Redemption 2 are guns typical of the time period –revolvers, and repeaters rifles. But there a few cool melee weapons that you’ll definitely want to try. Here’s how to get the Pirate Sword unique weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2.

The Broken Pirate Sword is super fun to use and makes a nice change from the typical melee weapons, such as the hatchet. It’s certainly pretty deadly in combination with a pistol in your other hand.

To find the Pirate Sword, you’ll need to have progressed to the Saint Denis area of the map. This is one of the largest urban areas on the map, and you probably aren’t likely to find yourself here until Chapter 4.

But once you’ve arrived, look out for the train bridge to the southwest of the city. If you open your map and look at the surrounding area, you’ll see a cluster of islands just south of the bridge, and that’s exactly where you want to head.

The Pirate Sword in Red Dead Redemption 2 can be found on the island on a wrecked rowboat. First things first, though: you’re going to have to head out to the island, which means crossing Alligator-infested water.

It’s worth noting here that you should be sure to hitch up your horse and keep it away from the shoreline in case it gets scared off. In fact, ensuring you have some heavy firepower at the ready is also worth considering.

You’ll want to island hop until you reach the westernmost island with a small wrecked boat. You’ll know it’s the right one when you see a skeleton inside and a sword sticking up from its hull. Voila! One Pirate Sword for your slashing pleasure.

If you’re keen on the pirate look, there’s also a nifty Pirate Hat that can be found on the island in the middle of Flat Iron Lake.
