Today Square Enix released a new trailer of its upcoming JRPG The Last Remnant Remastered.
The trailer focuses on showcasing the renewed graphics of the game, and in particular on the looks of the environments that we’ll get to explore.
We get to see grasslands, swamps, dungeons, and mountain passes. It’s a clear improvement from the original game, even if it’s certainly not close to some modern remakes in fidelity. Considering that the developers are using a new engine, though, the visuals aren’t so hard on the eyes anymore.
You can check it out below. If you want to see more, you can enjoy another trailer from yesterday, focusing on the cast. You should also not forget to read our hands-on preview.
If you’re unfamiliar with The Last Remnant, it’s a JRPG based on an original IP initially released by Square Enix in 2008 exclusively for Xbox 360. It was part of an effort by Microsoft to set a foothold in Japan by securing several JRPG exclusives. Unfortunately, it didn’t work too well.
It was then released for PC in 2009, and it’s finally coming to PlayStation with this PS4 release next week, on December 6th. As a wise man once said, better late than never.
