Where to Find MG42 Location in Fallout 76

Recommended Videos

Bethesda has added a truckload of weapons to Fallout 76, and there are some awesome historical guns you can add to your arsenal. One such weapon is the MG42, a German general purpose machine gun circa WW2. Here’s where to find the MG42 Location in Fallout 76.

To find the MG42, you’ll have to locate the plans to craft the weapon, which is located in a store called “Books” in Berkley Springs West. You should see the shop across the road from a large house, and there’s also a red vehicle wrecked outside.

Where to Find the Plans

Specifically, the plans can be found on the Book Store’s top level in a safe (corner of the room beside a desk) that requires you to have level 2 lockpicking skill (and obviously some Bobby Pins).

Note, be careful around this area as there are dozens of hostile Super-Mutants. There are also Scorched and level 60 Cave Crickets to contend with.

Other locations where the plans can be found include The Watoga Station (east), The Whitespring Station (central), and Lewisburg Station (also in the central area).

What You Need to Craft MG42

Once you have the MG42 plans you can head over to the workbench on the roof of the same row of buildings as the “Books” store to craft it.

You will need the following material:

  • Aluminum – 16
  • Gear – 14
  • Rubber – 10
  • Screw – 12
  • Spring – 10
  • Steel – 20

Assuming you have those materials, you should be good to go. The MG42 is a real beast, with a lightning-fast rate of fire and good damage. It’s absolutely worth the effort finding, and it just looks and sounds so badass!
