In a rather hilarious video, IO Interactive has revealed that Sean Bean will be the first Elusive Target in Hitman 2 and will be available a week after the game launches.
Bean will play a man named Mark Faba, an assassin who goes by the name “The Undying” and has a knack for faking his own death. In the video, Faba says “they keep trying to kill me” and talks about how he’s cheated death numerous times.
It has long been a joke on the internet that Bean dies in everything. It appears that Bean is very much aware of this, and putting him in a game as the target of an assassination is pure gold. It appears that Bean is excited to see his character as well.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the upcoming Hitman 2 video game,” Bean commented in a press release. “It’s always exciting to take on a new role, and I’m looking forward to everyone seeing my character in action when the mission launches.”
Once the Elusive Target drops, players will only have 10 days to take down Faba before the mission is gone. With Elusive Targets, you get one shot at killing the target, and if you fail, it’s over. Players can also vote now for what exclusive weapon they would like to unlock by going here.
“We’re very excited to partner with the talented Sean Bean on the first Elusive Target mission in Hitman 2,” IO Interactive studio head Hakan Abrak added. “Elusive Targets have become a distinguishing trait in Hitman games as part of the constant stream of free live content for all players to enjoy. This new mission starring Sean Bean is one of many updates, features, modes and franchise firsts coming to Hitman 2, making the next chapter in our ever-expanding world of assassination a richer game for our passionate community and newcomers to the series.”
The Elusive Target will drop Nov. 20, giving players until Nov. 30 to finish the mission. Hitman 2 will release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC Nov. 13.
