Is There New Game Plus in Red Dead Redemption 2?

To put things simply, no, there is no new game plus mode in Red Dead Redemption 2. After you’ve completed the main game, you’ll unlock a two-part epilogue that helps to wrap up the events that transpired at the end. And once you complete the epilogue itself, the credits will roll, and you’ll be treated to even more short scenes that offer closure to the story.

Once all that’s done with, you’ll take control of your character once again, and you’ll be allowed to explore the world freely. To avoid any major spoilers, suffice to say that you’ll still have a home base that you can return to, where you can change your character’s clothes, eat food, and shave before heading out to explore.

Most of the optional Stranger quests will still be available for you to pursue in your own free time, and you can complete these at your own leisure. In addition to that, you’ll still retain all of the items and weapons you’ve obtained so far in the story.

You can also spend your time hunting down the legendary fish and legendary animals for more money and resources to craft new outfits. We’ve got a complete list of things to do after beating Red Dead Redemption 2, should you be looking for some end-game activities to get caught up in.

However, if you want to re-experience the lengthy Red Dead Redemption 2 story all over again, you’ll need to start a fresh save file. At the moment, there’s just no way for you to start a completely new game and still retain all of your acquired weapons, money, and items, and begin again in new game plus.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that Rockstar could add a new game plus feature to Red Dead Redemption 2 in the future, as was the case with games like God of War and Spider-Man.

If anything changes, we’ll be sure to keep you updated. Until then, take your time with the story, and consider trying to 100% the game if you’d really like to maximize your time with it.

And that’s all you need to know about new game plus in Red Dead Redemption 2. Be sure to check our Red Dead Redemption 2 guide wiki for more information and tips on the game.
