What the CoD Black Ops 4 Preload and Unlock Times Are

Recommended Videos

Arriving in early October this year, rather than the early November spot it usually occupies, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s release is just around the corner. Things are a bit different this year, however, with the classic single-player mode making way, to be replaced by Blackout. Blackout is a battle royale mode that’s trying to take advantage of the meteoric rise in popularity of the genre. How it’ll fair against Fortnite and PUBG, only time will tell. If you’re wanting to jump in to Black Ops 4 as soon as you can, to get a head start, you’ll want to get the game ready and preloaded in advance. Here is everything you need to know about the CoD Black Ops 4 preload and unlock times.

What the CoD Black Ops 4 Preload and Unlock Times Are – Preload

Preloading allows you to ensure that everything is installed and updated so that you’re able to jump into the action the moment the servers go live. Since Black Ops 4 is all about online competition, preloading will be very important.

The CoD Black Ops 4 preload and unlock times are a little complicated. The preload times differ depending on your platform of choice, however. If you’re playing through Battlenet on PC, preload begins on the Oct. 9, whereas PS4 players have to wait until Oct. 10. There is no news on when Xbox One players will be able to preload the game, but it’ll likely be around the same time as PS4 players, so keep checking your preorder a few days before release.

What the CoD Black Ops 4 Preload and Unlock Times Are – Unlock

The CoD Black Ops 4 unlock times are a little more simple. All you need to do is wait until midnight your local time and the servers will be live. If you’ve preloaded, the game will be good to go at that time, and you’ll be able to jump into whichever mode you prefer. Since the game is a purely online experience, there’s nothing to do in the game before the unlock times anyway, since you won’t be able to match with anyone or get into the online servers.

You’ll need to know the times for both theses things if you want to get into Black Ops 4 quickly once it’s out. Be sure to take note of the CoD Black Ops 4 preload and unlock times and get the preload ready to go.
