It has been over ten years since the original Assassin’s Creed game released. Now, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has released and the series has moved on to Ancient Greece. However, the historical settings aren’t the only storyline that the series has followed over the years.

The modern day story, which has focused on a few characters, has been divisive. Some fans see it as a distraction from the main part of the series, while others enjoy the context it adds. Now that Odyssey has arrived, you might be wondering whether there’s more than just Kassandra and Alexios’ story.

It all follows Layla Hassan once again. She discovers the Spear of Leonidas in the story and she uses the DNA that she finds on the spear to go back in time to Ancient Greece. That’s how the modern day story is linked to the story of Kassandra or Alexios that you play through.
