ARK: Survival Evolved features familiar survival game formulas coined by games like Minecraft and DayZ, but sets itself apart by letting you fight and tame dinosaurs.
The game was in early access on Steam for a while before finally being released for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on August 29, 2017, followed by mobile devices this past June. We reviewed it last year, and found it to be fun but a little challenging and repetitive at times. Still, there is no denying that being able to tame your own Tyrannosaurus Rex is rad, and the game has a loyal following.
Earlier this year, developer Studio Wildcard announced that Ark: Survival Evolved would be coming to the Nintendo Switch, ported by Abstraction Games. Thanks to a teaser trailer posted to the ARK: Survival Evolved YouTube channel, we now have a concrete release date of Nov. 30, 2018 – just in time for the holidays.
There is no word on whether multiple editions will be released, or if the upcoming Extention DLC will be included or available in the future. In fact, the trailer doesn’t show much gameplay at all, though it is pretty funny to watch a man punch a tree.
ARK: Survival Evolved comes to the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 30th. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any news on the dinosaur-taming survival title as it comes along.
