Valkyria Chronicles 4: How to Unlock Squad Stories

How to Unlock Squad Stories in Valkyria Chronicles 4

Recommended Videos

Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes the series back to its strategy roots once again, sporting a brand new story that takes place during the same time period as the first Valkyria Chronicles. The story is focused on a Federation commander named Claud Wallace, as he leads Squad-E in a dangerous mission to capture the Imperial capital. Of course, like past games, Squad-E is filled with colorful characters, and getting to know all of them is part of the game’s charm. This comes in the form of squad stories, which are separate, self-contained chapters that flesh out certain characters and their relationships. Valkyria Chronicles 4 doesn’t exactly explain how to unlock these chapters, however, so we’ll try and clear it up a little bit.

Each soldier in Valkyria Chronicles 4 has people they like, and putting these characters in combat together will boost their parameters. You can check each character’s likes on their character cards when you’re selecting your squad in the Command Room of Headquarters. Basically, you’ll want to consistently pair up characters that like each other in battles. As you progress through the game, if you’re doing this, you’ll unlock squad stories along the way. Completing squad stories will unlock powerful new potentials for units to use, and strengthen their bond even more. At this point, we don’t know all the squad stories in Valkyria Chronicles 4, but we have unlocked ones for the following characters.

  • Like Old Times – Curtis, Laurent, and Eileen
  • A Prayer For the Broken – Nico, Godwin, and Rosetta
  • Honor, Pride, and Regret – Fleuret, Rebecca, Mabel
  • Treading New Ground – Dan and Aulard

We’ll be sure to update this post if we find any more squad stories in the game, or feel free to comment below with any we might not have ourselves.

That’s all you need to know about unlocking squad stories in Valkyria Chronicles 4. For more tips, tricks, and guides on the game, make sure to search Twinfinite, and take a look at our expansive wiki.
