After dodging incoming attacks from Doc-Oc on the side of the building for a while, Otto will be close to finishing off Spider-Man by stabbing him with one of his mechanical arms.
He tells Peter that if he wants to change the world, you need to be the kind of man who makes the hardest decisions. Somehow, miraculously, Spider-Man manages to break free briefly of Otto’s grasp and damage his tentacles and machine.
Victory! Well… kinda, because Doc Oc is now falling to his death, but he has the antiserum to Devil’s Breath in his hand.
Spidey dives down to save him, and the two manage to somehow break their fall on the side of the building and find themselves inside. With Otto sprawled out on a table, completely done, Peter picks up the vial of antiserum off the floor so it can be used to help save those who have been infected.
Otto tells him that he saw him as a son, but he should have known that Peter would turn on him eventually like everyone else. But Peter argues he worshiped Otto until he went… kinda insane.
In a last-ditch attempt to stop Peter from leaving him, Otto says he sees that the neural interface messed with his mind, but he can fix it, they can fix it together, if Peter helps him and doesn’t walk away from him with the antiserum.
Peter walks off, telling him he’ll help him get the best help possible, before Otto seemingly suggests that he could always leak Peter’s secret identity as Spider-Man. Peter tells him to do what he thinks is best, and he’ll do the same, before walking off for good.
Spidey then shows up at FEAST to find Aunt May in her death bed, and Dr. Michaels gives him the bad news that the entire sample is needed to recreate the antiserum on a mass scale which could take a few hours or up to a day. Aunt May doesn’t have that long left. When Spider-Man asks what would happen if it was used now to treat someone, Michaels replies that it simply wouldn’t be enough to save everyone else.
Spidey essentially says goodbye to Aunt May, with Mary Jane waiting outside. However, even without revealing his identity, Aunt May knows it’s Peter, and tells him to take off the mask. The two share a special moment, as Aunt May tells him how proud she and his Uncle Ben would have been of him saving all these people. And sadly, she passes away moments later.
The next scene starts off at an antiserum station, with the citizens of Manhattan being given the cure to save their lives. We then see Miles, his mother, Peter, and MJ at the graves of both May and Ben Parker, buried next to one another, with Miles consoling Peter.
We also see Otto thrown into a cell on RAFT, but with an evil, vengeful look on his face.
Spider-Man then skips forwards three months later. Peter meets MJ at a cafe and she tells him she’s made associate editor at the Daily Bugle. Meanwhile, Peter tells her he’s considering a change of career path, maybe as a chef, after his last science project he worked on resulted in devastating effects for Manhattan.
MJ then spots Peter’s bag and asks if he’s going away camping, to which we find out that Peter’s new place isn’t going to be ready for a while and he’s crashing with Miles Morales in the meantime.
MJ then throws out the offer of staying at her place, to which Peter immediately jumps at the option and the two share an awkward moment before kissing and ending the story the of Spider-Man PS4.
