Here’s what you need to know to change difficulty in Spider-Man PS4.

Spider-Man has swung his way onto the PS4, bringing some friendly neighborhood crime-fighting action to consoles for the first time in four years. You’ll be swinging through the streets, grabbing old backpacks, and of course, fighting bad guys to save your beloved city of Manhattan.

While you’ll be given the option to choose your difficulty setting at the start of Spider-Man PS4, some players may want to switch it midway through, especially if they’re finding it too easy or too difficult.

First things first, let’s run you through the different difficulty options. There’s Friendly, which, if you hadn’t guessed is Spider-Man PS4’s name for Easy mode. This will make enemies that little easier to kill, and reduce the amount of damage they deal out compared to the default, normal difficulty setting.

Speaking of normal difficulty, Spider-Man PS4 calls this Amazing, and it’s a pretty balanced and enjoyable option from our experience with the game.

If you’ve played a fair few games, we’d advise hopping in on at least Amazing, and forgetting about the Friendly option altogether.

Rounding off the different difficulties in Spider-Man PS4 is its hard mode called Spectacular. Enemies will be more relentless, take more damage, and deal more out, too, among other things.

As we previously mentioned, when first setting up a new game in Spider-Man PS4, you’ll be asked what difficulty setting you want to choose. If you want to change this at a later point in the game, you’ll need to press the Options button on your controller, head to Game Options, and down to the difficulty option.

Simply cycle through the options until you land on the one you want. Return to the game and you’ll be all sorted.

That’s all it takes to fine-tune the experience to give you the challenge you want in the game. There you have how to change the difficulty in Spider-Man PS4.
