Dragon Quest XI: How to Open Locked Silver Doors

How to Open Locked Silver Doors in Dragon Quest XI

Recommended Videos

Dragon Quest XI is the return of the legendary JRPG series after nearly a decade, apart from spin-offs like Dragon Quest Heroes and Dragon Quest Builders. A brand new story takes place in the world of Erdrea and casts you as the Luminary, a prophesied hero destined to defeat the Lord of Shadows. Erdrea has a ton of things to see and do, including plenty of treasure to collect. As you make you’re way through the game, you’ll no doubt notice a number of locked doors, both red and silver. The red doors can be unlocked earlier and you can see how here, but the silver doors won’t be accessible until later in the game.

SPOILER ALERT: Just as a warning there are slight spoilers ahead, we won’t spoil story development but just by sheer fact of knowing certain things exist it might be a spoiler.

To unlock silver doors you’ll need the Ultimate Key, but to even get that you’ll need to beat the game. After you’ve rolled credits, Dragon Quest XI actually isn’t over as you still have a whole story section to go, in order to get the true ending. Just follow the story, and accept when you’re asked if you really want to do something, until you have to travel to Havens Above, the home of the Watchers. Once there, go talk to the elder at the top of the town, and after the cutscene that plays, turn right around and open the chest behind you to find the Ultimate Key. Now nothing stands in your way of treasure hunting.
