Dragon Quest XI: How Long It Takes to Beat

How Long Is Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age?

Recommended Videos

It’s been nearly eight years since the release of the last single-player Dragon Quest game in the west, all the way back with Dragon Quest IX on DS to be exact. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age brings the legendary JRPG series back to PS4 and PC, and while it’s a traditional JRPG through and through there are a few modern touches to help things along. With a huge new JRPG, you’re bound to be wondering just how long the game might take you, and how much content there is to wade through. Well, we’re here to tell you just how you’ll be with Dragon Quest XI.

Dragon Quest XI tells a classic story of light versus dark, in this case, you the Luminary fighting the forces of darkness. The game has a lengthy main story that has you roaming around the world of Erdrea, and on average will take you around 70 hours to beat. This is just for the main story, of course, as if you want to take down the game’s sidequests and various pieces of side content, you’re looking at quite a few more hours. Our own playthrough took 87 hours to roll credits, playing through at a moderate pace, completing about half of the sidequests we came across, and taking time to explore everything.

There is a bit of a trick with Dragon Quest XI, however, as the game doesn’t end when the credits roll the first time. We won’t say any more for the sake of spoilers, but to get the true ending of Dragon Quest XI you’re looking at 15-20 more hours of playtime. This means that in general if you’re looking to do a full playthrough, it’s going to take you around 100 hours or more.

That’s all you need to know for how long Dragon Quest XI is, and how many hours it’ll take you. For more tips, guides, and walkthroughs on Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, make sure to search Twinfinite or take a look at our wiki guide.
