How to Control Party Members in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Like typical Dragon Quest fashion, Echoes of an Elusive Age doesn’t do things too differently when it comes to the games turn-based combat system; you can actually move freely around the battlefield, which is new for the series, but it doesn’t affect the actual combat at all – it’s just there for looks for the most part.
Each party member that you will be interacting with during your quest all have different tactics and skills to use to your team’s advantage and while you usually don’t have direct control over what everyone is doing, there is a way to fully control your party members and choose what actions they will be taking.
Once you add a new party member to your team, the game will automatically set them to be auto-controlled, which means the game chooses what they do depending on the combat situations. You’ll be able to control the tactics they use but if you want to directly control each party member during battle just go to the tactics menu in the main menu, or you can select tactics at the start of a battle. Just set everyone to follow orders and you will have total control over your teammates, letting you select their actions how you see fit. If you’re someone who doesn’t like computer-controlled partners, then choosing this option will put the battle in your hands entirely.
So, that’s pretty much everything you need to know about changing party members in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age.
