Moppin’s game, which has been published by Devolver Digital, originally came to mobile devices in late 2015/ early 2016 and PS Vita a few months later, but we will soon be able to play it on the Switch’s larger screen.

Since Downwell, as the name alludes to, is a game that plays downwards, with you moving left and right to avoid obstacles, it’s important that it will be playable in TATE mode on Switch. TATE mode is when you can remove the Switch’s joy-cons and play a game with the screen lying vertically. Considering Downwell’s design, it’s perfect for that.

Niether Red Phantom Games, who revealed the Switch version via their Twitter account, or Devolver Digital revealed when the game is due to release, simply stating that it was “in development,” but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as they do.

It’s also important to keep in mind that the initial reveal was during the Japanese version of yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, so it could be exclusive to that region, but Devolver didn’t specify that in their tweet.
