Destiny 2 Forsaken: How to Trigger All Heroic Public Events

How to Trigger All Heroic Public Events in Destiny 2: Forsaken

Recommended Videos

Forsaken is a brand new story expansion that’s just been released for Destiny 2, and it looks like Bungie is raising the stakes by leading off with the death of Cayde-6, the fan-favorite Hunter Vanguard. At the moment, Forsaken is looking a lot like what The Taken King was for the original Destiny, with an engaging story to dive into, and the reworking of multiplayer features and other mechanics to make Destiny 2 feel much more streamlined. Aside from all these major additions, we’re also getting a few new public events, which will be extremely useful for farming up planet tokens and blue engrams. But if you really want a chance at the good stuff, you’re gonna want to trigger the Heroic versions for each of these public events. Here’s what you need to know.

There are a total of four new public events being introduced in Destiny 2: Forsaken, and we’ve listed out the requirements for the Heroic versions down below:

Ether Ritual

This public event will start near a damaged Servitor, along with an elite that spawns soon after. Simply take down the elite, and you’ll start seeing ether orbs floating towards the Servitor. Your job here is to shoot down the orbs. If even a single one reaches the Servitor, you won’t be able to trigger the Heroic version. If you manage to keep the orbs away while staying alive, a tougher enemy will show up, triggering the Heroic event.

Cryo-Pod

Similar to one of the vanilla Destiny 2 public events, the Cryo-Pod event requires you to shoot some vents. When the pod appears, clear out the enemies nearby and start doing damage to the boss. Keep an eye on the pod for the opening vents, which will start emitting gas. Now, start shooting the vents to acquire an orb, then throw it at the boss. Everyone needs to concentrate on shooting the vents and throwing the orbs to freeze the boss. Once the boss is completely frozen, stand next to it to initiate the capture process to complete the event.

If you follow these steps correctly, the game will prompt you with a notification stating that the Heroic event has started, and you’ll need to clear it within the time limit to reap the rewards. If you’re successful, you’ll receive better rewards at the end of the event, and an increased chance at getting an exotic engram. If you fail to beat it within the time limit, you’ll only get the regular event rewards, which just aren’t as sweet. Whenever you see other Guardians attempting a public event, make sure to help them out and trigger the Heroic version if possible.
