Start Up Fast, But Then Slow Down

two point hospital, tips, tricks, beginners, guide, two point hospital tips

In Two Point Hospital, you’re going to be managing different rooms and patients. They all serve and need different things. You won’t know what a patient needs, though, without a GP’s diagnosis to start.

What I mean by “Start Up Fast, But Then Slow Down” is that you need to quickly get yourself a reception, toilets, staff room, and GP’s office. Quickly start that up, right away. Pause the timer if you have to take a moment to think about how you’re going to lay these out in your first building.

Once you have those locations and one doctor, one assistant, and one janitor, you can let things run smoothly. This is where the “Slow Down” part comes in; don’t build any other rooms without needing to. Wait until a new patient comes in that needs a Pharmacy and then build that and hire a nurse. Wait until a patient needs a Psychiatrist before you build them a room and hire one. Wait until a Ward is actually needed. Wait, wait, wait.

You won’t know which one you need until a patient comes in and is diagnosed a certain way, and if you build something you don’t yet need, you’re wasting money.

Don’t Forget Amenities

Imagine you’re in your Two Point Hospital, waiting for your appointment. Would you be happy waiting hours standing up? No! Build up your items around the hospital!

Not only does this increase your hospital’s rank and reputation, but it keeps your patients happy. You wouldn’t want them to leave a bad review, right? Let your failed surgeons deal with that. At least you made your hospital as pretty as possible.

Benches make it so that your patients can sit down. Bins keep trash off of the floors, helping your janitors. Plants, leaflets, snack and drink machines, fill them all, all over! Place them even in the rooms you build so that their rank goes up and with it, your hospital’s reputation.

Oh, and definitely don’t forget toilets or staff rooms. The place could get nasty quickly without both of those.

Take Up Challenges and Be Ready For Them

While playing the game, you’re going to come across challenges. These can take on the form of either your staff daring you to do something or medical emergencies coming up or some VIP wanting to take a tour. Accept them always!

These can earn you some quick chunk of cash, possibly kudosh, and maybe even some rank and reputation! If you fail, that’ll suck, but you won’t fail because by the time these come up, if you’ve been following this guide, you’ll be ready for whatever it is.

Focus your attention on the challenges since they have time limits and work to complete them first. If you need to cure 6 patients at your ward, build a big ward with six beds. It’s better to keep this room big anyway, since one nurse can handle and cure a lot of patients at once in there.

Spend Kudosh!

Kudosh is a special currency within the game. Unlike money, it can be used to purchase better items from a catalog. As such, I need to suggest that you definitely remember that kudosh exists and don’t forget all about it like I did.

If you’re looking through the items you can buy and wondering about all the many ones that are locked… fret not. You don’t really need to do anything special to unlock them. Just click on them and you’ll be prompted to spend kudosh to unlock them!

These items are especially useful for increasing rankings. Gone are the days when you stuffed 10 plants into your GP’s office to get it to rank 4. You can just stuff it with four air conditioners, instead! Hoorah!

Expand When You Can

And my final Two Point Hospital tip is to keep in mind whether you really need that extra space yet. You don’t have to grow your campus if you don’t need to, and it’s a really hefty amount of money to buy a new building. Don’t buy it until you absolutely need to.

You might find you have no more space for a Pan’s Lab or a Clown Clinic. Those are pretty big rooms, after all. Then would be the point where you’d need to expand your campus up a bit and purchase that upgrade to your land. Especially if those patients are coming in droves.
