Nintendo Switch fans have been waiting patiently, and finally, there hopes and dreams are being fulfilled. There’s a Monster Hunter game on the way to the Nintendo Switch. Is it Monster Hunter: World? No, but… it’s the Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, the enhanced version of the excellent 3DS game that came out a few years ago. It got high praise from fans, critics and us over here at Twinfinite as well. So while we wait around and see if Capcom well ever get around to bringing World to the Nintendo Switch, fans of the hybrid console can at least enjoy another great game in the series, hopefully with co-op multiplayer intact…

One of the most common questions that fans are wondering about though is whether or not there is co-op multiplayer in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. After all, most of the fun in Monster Hunter games is the ability to play with friends and/or strangers. And, in 2018, the expectations is that you should be able to play offline. Older games in the series restricted you to local, or solo play, but especially after PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC fans all have access to World, the most ambitious online title in the series to-date, another local affair wouldn’t go it. People want to play co-op with friends, together or online.

Luckily we have good news on the co-op multiplayer front. Yes, there is co-op multiplayer both online (presumably you will need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription soon though), and also in-person using the local wireless feature on your Switch, This means that yes, MH fans you’re getting a full fledged release that you can play either on the go, on your television screen, and with friends locally or online, or just by yourself if you prefer.

That does it for whether or not there is co-op multiplayer in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Be sure to search Twinfinite for more guides, tips, tricks and FAQs answered.
