Is Guacamelee 2 Coming to Xbox One? What You Need to Know

Recommended Videos

Five years after the first game released, Drinkbox has finally released Guacamelee 2. The new adventure sees you play as Juan once again as he sets out to stop Salvador and save the Mexiverse. The first game launched on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, before coming to PC, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox consoles at a later date as the Super Turbo Championship Edition. You may therefore be wondering which platforms the new game came to, and whether one of those is the Xbox One. Well, here is everything you need to know.

Unfortunately, if you were hoping that Guacamelee 2 was launching on or coming to Xbox One, we have some bad new for you. At least for now, Drinkbox’s game is not due to come to Microsoft’s console. It has launched exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PC, and DrinkBox Studios’ co-founder Billy Graham said, when asked whether or not Guacamelee 2 could come to other platforms in the future, “we’re currently completely focused on the PS4/PS4 Pro versions of Guacamelee 2, and aren’t announcing any other platforms at this time.” If there is any news on the game coming to Xbox One sometime in the future, maybe in the form of a Super Turbo Championship Edition again, we will be sure to update you here, but if it’s anything like the first game, it probably won’t be any time soon. The two versions of the first game released more than a year apart, so expect to wait at least that long.

That’s all there is to know about whether Guacamelee 2 is coming to the Xbox One. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite. To check out our thoughts on the game, have a look at our review.
