How to Set Up Two Factor Authentication  & Get Boogie Down Emote in Fortnite

If you’re a Fortnite player, you may have received a few emails over the past couple of months from Epic Games. These emails aren’t asking for you to spend any additional money on the game but instead advising that you enable two factor authentication on your account. It’s essentially a means of protecting your Fortnite account from getting hacked and someone using all of your V-Bucks… or trying to sell your account. Well, it turns out that Epic is so keen for players to do this, that they’re offering the Boogie Down emote to anyone who enables two factor authentication. Here’s what you need to know to do just that.

First off, you’ll need to head over to the official Fortnite two factor authentication page. This will require you to log-in. Once you’ve signed into your account with the email address and password of your account, you should be brought to the “Password and Security” page of your Account Settings. Scroll down this page a bit, and you’ll eventually come to a section called Two Factor Authentication.

Here, you’ve got two options to enable two factor authentication on your account. You can either use some sort of Authenticator App on your smart device, or you can use email authentication. The easiest of the two methods we found to set up was the email authentication.

To set up this form of two factor authentication on your Fortnite account, you’ll need to enter a security code that the page automatically sends to your Fortnite account’s associated email. Simply enter the number from this email into the box that it provides and click Submit. Once you’ve done this, you should now see the box turn to ‘Disable Email Authentication.’ If you see this, you’ve set up two factor authentication on your Fortnite account correctly.

Now, to get your Boogie Down emote, simply log into the game and it should be waiting in your Locker ready to be used.

That’s all you need to know to set up two factor authentication for your Fortnite account to get that precious Boogie Down emote. For more tips, tricks, and information on Fortnite Season 5, be sure to check out our comprehensive wiki.
