No Man’s Sky NEXT: How to Remove Frigates

Removing Frigates in No Man’s Sky NEXT

Recommended Videos

No Man’s Sky has just received its brand new NEXT update, which makes it easier for all players to obtain a free Freighter near the start of the game, regardless of how much money they have. With a Freighter, you’ll be able to recruit Frigates and send them out on missions to discover new star systems and bring back some extra units for you. However, you can only have a limited number of Frigates in your fleet, so if you want to recruit better ones, you’ll need to make some space. Here’s what you need to know.

For starters, you can do things the old-fashioned way and just have your Frigates get destroyed during a mission. You can deliberately send them out on high-level missions, and there’s a chance they could bring you back some units and get destroyed in the process. This will free up a slot in your fleet. Alternatively, if you want to do things a little differently, you can just head to the command center in your Freighter, interact with the navigation panel, and choose the Manage Fleet option. If you’re on consoles, you can push in the right stick to hold down the R3 button to delete any Frigate currently in your employment. It’s as simple as that.

When you want to recruit a new one, simply fly up to them, and recruit them with the starship communicator. You’ll need to pay a fee to recruit them, and it’ll increase depending on how powerful they are.
