How to Play with Friends in No Man’s Sky NEXT
Alongside No Man’s Sky’s launch on Xbox One, Hello Games’ title is receiving a huge new, free DLC pack. Many hope that NEXT will bring the game to the state many expected it to be when it initially launched. The NEXT update will add: the ability to build bases anywhere, a third-person mode, and many visual improvements. However, the main addition is full multiplayer, which allows you to squad up and explore the infinite number of planets together. Since you’ll probably want to experience it when you jump back in, here’s everything you need to know to play with friends in the NEXT update in No Man’s Sky.
There’s a few ways that you can play with friends now that No Man’s Sky’s NEXT update is live. First of all, when you start the game up, you are met with the option of playing your own game, where others will be able to join your session, or join another session. Choosing join another session will present you with a list of your friends currently playing and an option that lets you join a random session. Simply select the friend you want to play with in No Man’s Sky, and jump into exploring.
Alternatively, you can bring up the menu once you’re in a game and head to the Options tab go to ‘Network & Voice’. You can turn network features on and off here, and you can invite friends to your game. Selecting Invite Friends will bring up your friends list, and as before, select whoever you want to play with. Also, as a shortcut, you can reach the Network and Voice options from the in-game menu by pushing in the left thumbstick.
