Is the Tac SMG Vaulted in Fortnite Battle Royale?
The beginning of Season 5 in Fortnite Battle Royale is not just about changes to the map, the release of new challenges to complete, and a new Battle Pass to work on, it allows Epic to release a big update that can fix some issues that have been frustrating people, and generally make some changes to make the game better. The changes to the double-pump shotgun move have taken the limelight, but you may have noticed that the Tactical Submachine Gun (Tac SMG) has seemingly disappeared, meaning you can’t find it lying around the map or in chests. You may therefore be wondering whether the Tac SMG has been vaulted.
The answer is yes, the Tac SMG has been vaulted in Fortnite, at least temporarily. However, it has been replaced by another SMG, simply called the Submachine Gun. The new weapon can be found in Common, Uncommon, and Rare variants, and has 19-21 base damage stats. Simply find one on the the floor or in chests, grab plenty of light ammo, and you’ll be ready to go. The Tac SMG was available in slightly rarer variants, and therefore was more useful, but it has been removed from the game for now. Of course, since it has been vaulted, it is possible that it’ll return to Fortnite Battle Royale sometime in the future, once Epic feels they need to freshen up the SMG pool, or it’s more balanced in-game, but we’ll let you know if that is ever the case. If you’re a fan of the weapon, keep an eye on future patch notes.
