Fortnite’s Slurp Juice will get a buff as part of the next update to hit the game, according to comments from developers over on Reddit.
News of the buff was shared with fans over on Reddit after user HalfHealth posted his own suggestion for how Slurp Juice could be improved in the game.
For those unaware of what this oddly-named consumable does, it essentially grants 1 HP and 1 Shield per second, for 25 seconds, essentially giving you a 25 HP and 25 Shield boost over time.
Essentially, HalfHealth’s suggestion would provide 50 points of regenerative healing for both health and shield, however, it would prioritize fully restoring your HP first. Any of the 50 points left over once your HP has reached 100, would then go into bumping up your shield. It’s best to check the accompanying image with the suggestion (which we’ve included below) to get a better picture.
Well, turns out that Epic also agrees it’s a pretty great idea, and commented back on the suggestion to inform fans of planned upcoming changes to Slurp Juice. According to Fortnite’s design lead, Eric Williamson “In 5.10 Slurp will give 75 points (2hp/s), but prioritize HP first. If HP is full it’ll go to Shield.”
Following up on when players could expect to see the Slurp Juice buff come into effect in Fortnite, Epic’s Neuronbasher stated that “Our versioning strategy changed very recently so 5.10 is correct, then the next biweekly patch afterward would be 5.20 and so on. A minor patch between 5.10 and 5.20 could be either 5.10.1 or 5.11, depending on things like whether a new client patch was necessary and other boring internal tooling details.”
With the 5.0 patch releasing two weeks ago tomorrow, chances are the Slurp Juice buff will come into full effect tomorrow when the next patch drops.
Fortnite continues to be a dominant force in the world of online games, having just kicked off its fifth season, and with its Summer Skirmish competition in full flow.
