Ubisoft’s The Division 2 premiered with both a teaser and a gameplay trailer at Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference today. Check out the two trailers below.
The game will take place in Washington D.C., where Division agents must take back the city from enemy forces such as the True Sons paramilitary group, according to the game’s official website. The map will be a 1:1 representation of the actual city offering “up-close-and-personal views of landmarks, natural landscapes, neighborhoods, and enemy hideouts.”
The demo, using in-game footage, follows a team of four Division agents crossing through a heavily vegetated section of the city and discovering a new side mission outside Capitol Hill. The team continues to its destination, a crash site with a destroyed Air Force One plane, to find enemies patrolling the area.
The player controlling the demo briefly changes his weapon, showing off a cleaner menu system than the first game. The demo also showcases new abilities, such as an aerial drone that attacks enemies and a turret that shoots miniature rockets. Color-coded loot also makes a return in this sequel.
The Division 2 was originally announced last March in a post by its developer, Massive Entertainment. It will be launching on March 15, 2019, and players can register for beta access here.
